Typically, data sales in Japan always appears at the end of the week. But after the success experienced by Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, it seemed to encourage the announcement of the sale. Exactly a day after Capcom announced that they managed to sell two million units of the game, one of Japan's leading game magazine, Famitsu, reports that the game has sold over 2,146,467 units in just five days.
Sales Monster Hunter is huge this also means that too many PSP sales. Sony's handheld is actually already have the sales data is much higher than usual, but according to information from Famitsu, it was noted that the PSP had sold 326,639 units last week. Sales are still not included with the PSP Go, because the handheld does not however have the UMD drive and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is only available as a UMD only.
It is 2:14 million unit rate in five days is a record of its own. But that number still could not topple the number 2.6 million units of Pokemon Black & White, who successfully sold within two days in September 2010 that then. Keep in mind, it is a combination of two different games, while for Monster Hunter, it was a separate game only.
